- James left the CCG for the GeoVISTA Center in the Department of Geography at Pennsylvania State University in 2002. From there he moved on to work with Google in 2005.
- During his time with us at the University of Leeds, James did a Masters in GIS and a PhD and became a deputy director of the CCG during which time worked on a variety of geospatial research initiatives including the foundation of the open source GeoTools library.
